Essentials to Take to the Beach

Essentials to Take to the Beach

We’ve all had daydreams of arriving at the beach armed with nothing more than our swimsuit and a sarong for a simplistic and uncluttered look that looks charmingly elegant. But realistically we’re going to need a bit more than that to make sure that we can enjoy a fantastic summer’s day at the beach with plenty of sun, sea and sand to make the day a special one.

You don’t have to pack practically everything barring the kitchen sink though; with a bit of consideration you can make sure that you have everything you need without finding yourself weighed down with countless bags and things that will have you feeling hot and bothered and not like the relaxed beach babe that you hoped to be. Whatever your tastes, there will always be things that you do need to take with you though and that is where we can help to remind you of the ultimate essentials that will make your day at the beach a breeze. So if you have a tendency to over or under pack then don’t worry since we’ve got you covered for the ultimate essentials that you should be taking to the beach!

Beach Bag

You can pick a funky beach bag up for just a few pounds pretty much anywhere from fashion stores to supermarkets to outdoor retailers and they are really a great investment. Big enough to hold what you need, they can also double up as a head rest when you’re sunbathing, conceal your items with ease and best of all, it doesn’t matter if sand gets into it since they can be easily shaken out and washed which is more than we can say for our regular handbags!

Beach Towel

A beach towel is obviously a no-brainer and is just so vital at the beach. Larger, thinner and lighter than your average bath towel, these create the perfect picnic blanket, sun-bathing spot and protection from the sun, they dry quickly and of course will dry you off if you’ve been dipping in the sea. Get a brightly coloured one with a fun design to make your spot really visible on the beach too.

Sun Cream

A good sun cream with a high SPF and protection from both UVA and UVB rays is a complete no-brainer when you go to the beach. Even if you tan well, it is easy to burn in the glare of the beach and who wants to look old and wrinkly before their time?! Slather it on and regularly too, especially after you’ve been swimming. And if you don’t like the heavy feel of the cream then pay a little more for one of the transparent sprays which offer you invisible protection in a moment.

Sunglasses & Hat

With the glittering sea and the bright sand or pebbles, it can be easy for the glare to get to you so take a pair of sunnies with UV protection that will have you looking cool and chic when you’re on the beach. A hat is also a good idea to keep the hot sun off your head and protect your face too and there are so many styles out there that there is bound to be one that you love. Even better, these items are light and easy to carry or wear so there’s no reason not to use them!
